Hen Party Planning – Easy Ways to Communicate with your Hens

Communicating with a group, whether it’s large or small, can be tough. During the Hen Party Planning - if you manage to contact each person there’s no guarantee of getting a response! I’m currently organising my best friend’s hen weekend so I have first-hand experience of how difficult this is. Within our group of hens there are girls who are working shifts and girls who aren’t even in the country - making meeting up out of the question! So how do you get around these communication barriers when you need to organise the best hen party ever?!

Meet up

If you’re lucky enough to have all of the other hens living close by the best way to keep everyone in the loop and to discuss ideas is by meeting up for a drink and a good old chat (plus this means you can involve wine). Arrange a date and time to suit the group (don’t forget your notebook and pen to write down any alcohol-influenced hen party ideas you may have as they’re sometimes the best!) This also means you can all get to know each other before the weekend itself – breaking the ice prior to the party sets any awkwardness aside and lets you get straight down to the important stuff – eating, drinking, laughing and partying!

With the worry of making a sweeping statement - almost EVERYONE has a Facebook account these days, so this is now a pretty standard form of communication between friends. It’s free, easy to use and great for hen party planning! You can even create a page dedicated to your event where everyone can get their opinions across (dangerous I know) Post regularly on the event page to keep the hens up-to-date with how the plans are going and use the RSVP tool to give you an idea of exactly who’s attending. WARNING – be sure to keep the group closed, private and secret; public events can end up getting very out of hand! Also means no one else will find out about what you and the hens are planning; perfect if you’re surprising the bride to be!

WhatsApp is by far the most used platform of communication between my group of friends. The best thing about this app is that you can start a group message with anybody that has it installed on their smartphones. You receive a notification each time someone writes a message in your group meaning that you can keep the other girls up-to-date with all the hen party ideas at the click of a button. Download it by following this link. Fantastic as you have access to the plans quite literally in your pocket, 24 hours a day wherever you are.
