I recently got Engaged this past December, so I’m happy to share my personal experiences, but also give insider tips and tricks to help you plan the Wedding of your dreams. It all starts with that rock on your finger and here’s what you need to do moments after.

Call EVERYONE
While some family and friends may have been involved in the proposal process, this is the time for you and your fiancé to spread the joyous news! My fiancé and I made it fun! We sat together, poured a glass of wine, went through our phone book and spoke to all our relatives. Get ready for the well wishes to start pouring in as well as a million wedding questions that you may not be ready to answer, but that’s OK!
Admire Your New Bling
Now is the perfect time to just stop and stare! Everybody else is and you should too. Trust me, newly engaged bliss starts here!
Don’t Forget to Post on Social
Once you’ve informed your immediate family and friends about your engagement, it’s time to share your ring with the world! Don’t forget to change your Facebook relationship status and get creative with those #ringselfies!
If You Don’t Have One Already, Get a Manicure
Once you share your good news, everyone is going to want to book a date with the happy couple to see your new ring. Now is the perfect time to give your nails a little extra TLC!
Start Thinking of a Possible Wedding Date
You don’t need to go jump into the nitty-gritty details of what your wedding will look like, however, I think it’s wise to talk with your partner on the type of wedding you are looking for. Do you both enjoy a summer wedding? Are you looking to have a winter wonderland affair? Do you prefer rich autumn hues as the backdrop for your wedding?
If you both can agree on a potential month and year of your wedding, you’re already heading in the right direction. This is the time to get the conversations started because once you set the date, that’s when real planning begins.
Don’t Forget to Celebrate
It’s important to take time and just celebrate being engaged. This is a truly unique experience for you two as a couple. I’ll be the first to say wedding planning is very stressful. Take time to enjoy each other’s company by going on a romantic date and simply reconnect with one another.
