Shahrukh and Kajol stumble and rise in love and do it in the midst of a landmine and come out unscathed.
The movie told us the meaning of “Jootha hai Japani phir bhi dil hai Hindustani”.

Vivah is one of Bollywood’s best subtle romances that is an all time favourite. It took us all to love the old school way. This film made Shahid and Amrita a household name as they won millions of hearts with their shy yet powerful portrayal of love.
The wedding in the narrow galis and the homemade mitai varieties had us all craving for the simplicity of Madhupur, a small town.
It made us believe in magic in arranged marriages that seems like an age old practice these days. This is one of the most beautiful movies made in Bollywood that showed us why humanity stands above all. And why everything else takes a back seat.
Band Baaja Baaraat (2010)
It was all about weddings and the name itself says so much, for our lead characters were the best wedding planners in town. Bitto Sharma and Shruthi Kakkar were in business and delightfully stole the viewer’s hearts.
The audience was lost in the magical sets, the wedding DJ night, the themes and colours that were brought out in the movie.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)
This movie not only had to-be brides and grooms take a note of Aditi’s destination wedding in Udaipur. But it also gave some amazing life tips that people could take out of the lives of these 4 friends.
Aditi’s wedding saw some of the best moments from the lush exterior of Udaipur. It made everyone who watched the film fall in love with Rajasthan.
The designer clothing, the various wedding related events that made our Dil Batameez is every couple’s dream of an ideal wedding.
2 States (2014)
Unexpectedly, this one makes it to the list as the film which was a book adaptation had more to do about Indian families. The movie was so beautifully filmed and had one of the best weddings.
The Punjabi Tamilian wedding mashup was the highlight of this romantic comedy. Cultural melange showcased how to plan a wedding in style even though to-be weds are from two different backgrounds.

Apart from the masala and drama, there is an emotional connect that these movies provide. Considering the fact that weddings are all about them, it is okay to take some pointers from these classics.
They made us believe strongly in happy endings, both on and off screen. After all, sometimes it is all about the little reassurances.
