Happy Father’s Day

This post is sponsored by Storyworth.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 7 years since my dad has passed away. This year I have been looking back through old Family photos and videos and am so thankful for the 24 years that I had to spend with my dad. The older I get, the more I realize how much of a hero my parents are to me. Their love, encouragement, prayer, and support are what have made me who I am today.

I am so thankful for the Memories, stories, and photos that I have to remember my dad. That’s one of the reasons why I love promoting Storyworth to people. Now that my dad is gone, I realize how much I value those life lessons and stories.

Storyworth is a company that we have been working with for years after we found them by personally using their product. They are an amazing company that is dedicated to helping preserve family memories in a fun and easy way. They take the daunting task of writing down a lifetime of family memories and breaking it down into short, simple questions that are emailed out each week. At the end of the year, you receive a beautiful custom book of memories that is easy to share with the whole family.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, your family member receives an email with questions about their life. (You can choose from a list of Storyworth’s recommended questions, or write your own.)
  2. Storyworth emails their answers to the custom list of family/friends you’ve chosen.
  3. At the end of the year, Storyworth combines all the answers into a beautiful book.

Something that I didn’t realize when we first started using Storyworth was how much we would look forward to the weekly emails. It is amazing how a short, simple question could bring up so many amazing memories that we had never heard about. We learned so much about our family and it was a great topic of conversation for the entire family to be a part of!

Before we knew it, it was the end of the year and we received the final book! Storyworth made it so easy to customize the book exactly how we wanted it. It is a great gift and conversation starter for any family get-together!

I wish I knew more about my dad and his stories of when he was my age. Father’s Day is a great reminder of how thankful I am for the years I got to have with my dad.  I hope that someday I can be ½ the dad to my kids that he was to me.
