Why did people Castrate some women?


Women cannot be castrated. A eunuch is a man whose testicles and/or penis have been removed. In some cultures this was to prevent them from getting pregnant/sexually assaulting/having sex with women in their care, in other cases it was little more than a display of one man's power over another.

You can usually consider FGM, where female genitalia are replaced to remove the clitoris. This does not render the woman incapable of sexual intercourse, but it seems to stem from the peculiar idea that women should either not enjoy sex or, if they are allowed to enjoy it, they will leave their husbands to seek sex elsewhere.

The tragedy of this, besides the horrific practice of course, is that it is often practiced by women on young girls.

Such practices must be ruthlessly trampled or otherwise buried in the dust from existence and the cultures that train them to do better. .....Read more
