This Scottsdale Resort Wedding is not only special because of the venue, the design and the couple. This wedding is one that meant so much to me to be a guest, a friend and a photographer. I first met Heather, the beautiful bride, in 2005 during our time at Arizona State University. She and I met during our time in Kappa Delta, as sorority sisters! Its been just over 12 years since our journey began, and it was such an honor getting to share in the moments before and after she said I do to her prince charming. Heather, thank you again for trusting me to document your day!!! And Jared, since she is technically my “sister”, welcome to the family!!! So happy for you two and so excited to see what adventure is next!!!
We met 3 years ago at work (Banner Thunderbird Hospital). I was a brand new nurse at my very first job, and Jared had been working there a year. We became instant friends…. it started out with him helping the baby nurse, to us sitting next to each other when we were working, to us sharing our lunch period together, and Jared telling me about Jesus. We eventually started carpooling, and it wasn’t long after that that we were inseparable and madly in love. Three years later, is when he proposed. We had bought kayaks at Costco, and on May 25th decided we would take advantage of the beautiful weather. We kayaked down this beautiful waterway at Canyon lake. We pulled off to the side to have lunch and while I was distracted feeding the ducks, Jared snuck off to the side behind some reeds. After a few minutes, he called me over and the moment I saw what he had done I realized he was about to propose. On the bank of this waterway was a picnic with two wine glasses and a bottle of wine. No quicker had I seen, it was Jared then on his knees asking me to marry him. Four months later we were married in my dream wedding.
