A little change of heart

Hello, everyone! It’s been weeks since I last updated my blog. It was because I’ve been busy with few other things besides writing (which is new, lol). I’ve been traveling a lot, making the most of my vacay. Plus I am now going out with someone (naks!). Aaaand I’m finally back to the corporate world!

Oh, and another thing is I am leaving Tumblr…again. Catch me

I have mentioned in one of my previous posts that I had no plans (yet) on transferring to another blogging platform. I Love Tumblr a loooooot because it is where I grew in writing, particularly in blogging. Tumblr made me realize the importance of “privacy in sharing” as well as the other things all Tumblr bloggers have learned here.

For the past few days I’ve been thinking about shifting back to Wordpress (again and again) I know you’re not wondering why (I don’t even think you’re still reading my post up to here), but I’ll share why anyway. There are a few things I am considering:

1. Feedbacks > Likes

Yes, I can reach a larger number of “likers” on Tumblr at any time without so much effort. But Wordpress can offer not just a ticked heart, but feedbacks as well.

I’ve been on Tumblr since 2009, posting looong text entries about everything between art and life. Only few of our Tumblr bloggers actually read your whole posts and only the fewest of the few comment. Wordpress has a larger groups of eyes and hands. When I was there the first time, I receive comments and messages and emails from people who are interested about what I was talking about. That’s more fulfilling than just getting a like.

2. Easy to use

Tumblr’s handy, too. But Wordpress can offer you more tools to customize your posts and pages. Plus, yes, I am getting tired of coding!

I have this friend who told me she’ll help me get a nice theme. It was a minimal theme, almost similar to what I saw for Wordpress. I don’t know her whereabouts now, but I guess I’m just gonna let her go (parang pag-ibig).

Okay, I don’t think I need to explain this further.

I woke up the next day and thought “OMG what have I done?” I love Tumblr more and I’m not going anywhere else anymore.
