May Day: Provincial life + Summer fun

I just got home from a three-week vacation around Bicol. Yes, “around” Bicol. This is, I think, the longest yet I’ve been out of town, and I chose Bicol. So yep, if you want a little disconnection from the world, love to travel with different kinds of fun people, if you love the beaches, falls, and mountains or the Mayon, and if you loooooove food, go to Bicol.

When we visit the Province, we literally can have a sleep over almost in everyone’s home in the “barrio”. I think almost 75% of our little barangay are parts of the Vargas’ Clan. We are directly related to the Gianans, Santillices’, Fernandez’, and hmm basically everyone. I actually would like to host a family grand reunion but honestly, it’ll be a huuuuuuge expense I’m going to break my own wallet. So, yeah, maybe no.

We stayed in my tita’s home in Bislig, San Andres (as alwaaaays! ❤) with my cousins and nephew. Hopefully everyone will be able to join us next year.

I loooove it here because of non-stop fun eating various Filipino foods.

You can have as many fresh coconut as you want. There are unlimited “suman”. Even the sunny side ups are soooo delicious because they use native eggs. You don’t have to visit an expensive cafe just to taste a good coffee. You can stroll and swim at the beach whenever you want for free. You can even have a morning hike on whatever day.

Growing up in the city may somehow make you think life in the province is boring. No internet, no network signal, no bars or clubs, no everything. But thankfully, those are not my things. I can survive without networks mainly because I just don’t care. I update my accounts if I can, or just leave them alone when I don’t. So yea. Being an introvert is both a curse and one of the best gifts.

Another thing I love about the province is the view of the sunset. I honestly once thought sunsets in the cities are the best, but I changed my mind. Around 5pm on every day, I go to pne of my cousins’ house to check my emails, accounts, etc. and to watch the sunset. If you are following me on IG, I bet you got used ot maybe sick about my stories. Yep, my stories are all about sunsets, the sea, and the Mayon. Well.

My friends are already loving making fun of me. Neg neg! The sunburns really hurt, but it was really worth it. There’s beauty in every pain, as they say.

Fortunately, my summer isn’t over yet! I have more mountains to climb, and more waves to surf these coming months. Sooooo yep, may God bless me, especially my skin!
