Get the look: white flowy dress

House dresses are having a moment, which makes sense, because we are, for the most part, literally housebound. But as I noted in Monday's post, just because you're staying at home doesn't mean you can't look pretty. This month's most repinned look from my Outfit ideas for ageless style Pinterest board manages to feel both comfy and feminine, which pretty much explains why it's so popular. And who can say no to a little white Dress at this time of year?

The key to finding a voluminous, flowy white dress that doesn't make you look like an elephant is looking for a lightweight, gauzy fabric—and making sure it fits properly. This Elizabeth and James dress (remember them? They're now at Kohl's!) is in a slightly different fabric—eyelet versus voile—but the vibe is very similar, and the price is right.

Another must-have for summer: a big, slouchy tote bag. Bonus points if it has an interesting handle like this one. I think the woman in the photo has a Marni bag, and while the shape of this one is a little more relaxed, it's a fraction of the price and a bit more versatile.
Splendid ring tote $130

I wear Delicate Gold jewelry exclusively in the summer, including a pair of hoops and several delicate gold necklaces that I never take off. If you don't already have these two staples, it's time to invest in some.
Kenneth Cole gold hoops $26
Madewell coin layered necklace $48

Finally, a pair of oversized sunglasses is key, and I say the bigger the better. This pair has a similar ombré effect in the frame (although, for the record, I believe the woman in the photo is wearing Celine).
Jessica Simpson cat-eye sunglasses $32.99
