Undoubtedly, our mental and physical health has been affected by the fact that we have been barely able to leave our homes in timeframes as long as whole months. However, being in a wheelchair has represented an even more significant obstacle to the whole situation. Coping with both challenges has resulted in very troublesome for some. However, summer is here now, and this should not stop you from making the most of the good weather, sunny days, and warmth. Here is how! Install a Ramp in Your Garden Firstly, installing a ramp in your garden could represent the single most important additions for anybody in a wheelchair. Wheelchair ramps come in all shapes and forms and can help you overcome the fear of going outside. Such additions are what allow you to enjoy the sunshine and regain that freedom of movement that you have been struggling to find over the past few months. Once you can access it in all freedom, your garden can become a private paradise to resort to when your house starts to stress you out. I have even completed my corner with furniture, umbrellas, and drink holders to make the most out of my time outdoors! Calm Your Mind With Meditation Sessions Staying indoors for prolonged time frames comes with one of the biggest challenges most of us had to face during the past four months: boredom. After a brief initial period of working-from-home excitement, staying at home has become cumbersome, and the activities to dedicate yourself to are limited.  If somebody else such as your partner or friends are around, you might opt to catch up over a coffee cup. However, if you are alone in your home or on your own, you could look inwards instead! Meditation is something you can practice anywhere, at any time. Such a simple activity can help you keep stress at bay and focus on what you are grateful for in this challenging time.  Play Cards and Invest in Board Games If some of your friends are around, playing cards and board games are an excellent pastime that can distract you both from the need to have a conversation. Indeed, if you have both stayed at home for weeks, conversation topics might be limited. Playing a game or focusing on the rules of a new board game can give you an option to have fun with your friends without necessarily focusing on watching TV! Make the Most Out of Your Patio Lastly, your patio should become the place to be during these times. While it is still part of your property, and you can feel safe anywhere, a patio can give you the chance to spend time outdoors.  Even if you are blessed with a small outside area, make sure to add plants and other comforts to make the most of this area in your house. This can also be an excellent place to welcome any guests, as meeting others outdoors limits the chances of contagion. Make sure to have an iced drink in your hand before heading outdoors!
