Suicide Squad – 5th August

Oh yeah the wait is over after a year of hype, worry (BVS looked good in the trailers, not so much as a complete Film though) and frustration (that the film was still eons away) Suicide Squad is finally hitting cinemas this month. I reviewed (and squealed about how awesome the film is going to be) the first trailer that came out at last years comic-con here:

Suicide Squad Comic-Con Trailer – My Thoughts

The Childhood of a Leader – 14th August (Limited Release)

Oooh a dark film about the childhood of boy who destined to one day become a tyrannical leader. I find this concept quite interesting as when you look back on pictures of Hitler or Stalin in their youth you can see something unsettling about them. This trailer shows the boy to have quite a volatile upbringing which could be said to be a reason as to why he grew up to be a dictator. The music playing throughout the trailer is dramatically frantic and very unsettling which adds more tension and suspense to this ominous trailer that has made me really want to go see this film.

So August has slowed down with films that I want to go see which is rather unusual but I guess it’s because most of the blockbusters have been and gone and Oscar fare is waiting in the wings for the autumnal season to begin so that they can be in the run for nominations (I’m surprised actually that The Childhood of a Leader was not delayed as it looks like the kind of film you would seen in the Oscar run).

Let me know in the comments section what you are looking forward to seeing this month.
