If you live in St. Louis or the surrounding area, come out and support this important cause that celebrates the excellence of teenage girls and young women.
Educated Girls Rock (EGR) will host their annual Educated Girls Rock “Fight to Focus” ceremony this summer. EGR helps prepare girls and young women for the world by empowering and motivating them to continue their education. The organization’s mission is to advance girl’s opportunities of becoming successful contributors of society.
“We create the awareness to girls and young women to see the vision of how important it is to graduate from high school,” says EGR Founder and President Nisha Glenn. “We also instill in them that there is pride and an accomplishment in wearing a cap and gown.”
This year’s Educated Girls Rock “Fight to Focus event will give back to several students within the community that have been able to overcome challenges during the 2015-2016 school year. The event will also acknowledge students that have been able to accomplish their personal and education goals.
Tracie Berry-McGhee, M.Ed, of Imani Therapy and the nonprofit organization SistaKeeper will serve as the keynote speaker. There will be entertainment, as well as refreshments.
The event will be held on July 17th, 2016 at the Third Degree Glass Factory in Saint Louis, Mo. 63104. Take a look below for exact details.
