Football Transfer Window Motoring Special!

The Premier League FINALLY returns after the international break on Saturday and fans will get to see their teams finalised squads in action, following the closure of the transfer window.

At WhoCanFixMyCar.com, we're completely obsessed with cars but unfortunately, there is no such thing as a motoring transfer window!

That's why we've got in on the fun with our own version of silly season!

Here are our Top Ten Transfers of Summer 2016 and the cars we think reflect each player!

1. Claudio Bravo

The former Barcelona man is already the most capped Chile player of all time having appeared for his nation 106 times. Barcelona won a famous treble in 2015 with Bravo setting a clean sheet record at the start of the season by not conceding for 754 minutes, which broke the previous record of 560 minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo ended the run by scoring a penalty for Real Madrid in a game which the Catalonians lost 3-1.

The Range Rover is an SUV with the pedigree, safety measures, size and power to match the big South American.

Frozen to -40 degrees and baked to +50 degrees, the Range Rover, and worlds first Diesel Hybrid SUV, was tested extensively to ensure it could handle the most extreme conditions.

Pep Guardiola seems satisfied with the testing Bravo has endured in Spain as he now gears up to face the rigors of the Premier League.

2. John Stones

John Stones became the second most expensive defender of all time when Manchester City paid £47.5 million for his services this summer. Having moved from Barnsley to Everton for £3 million, the Merseyside club can be happy with the £44 million profit they have made.

Stones has the attributes to get right to the top of the game having already represented England at u19, u20, u21 and the senior side, winning 10 senior caps and appearing for the Toffies 77 times.

The Jaguar F Pace is a new car on the market and combines practicality with Style, its lightweight aluminium architecture, V6 380 PS supercharged engine, cutting edge technology and ability to get from 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, make the SUV one of the most stylish and powerful SUV’s on the market.

It’s combination of style, size and speed, match Stones perfectly.

3. Eric Bailly

Powerful, fast and safe, Eric Bailly has provided much needed steel to the Manchester United backline, he could become a fearsome player in the coming season and help Manchester United reach the top.

Bailly has only ever been sent off twice in his entire professional career, but neither of those instances came from a straight red card which bodes well for the Red Devils under the new Jose Mourinho regime.

The Range Rover Evoque is a car built just like the African powerhouse, with an elemental mixture of style, practicality and strength.

SUV’s are the fastest growing category of car as they are taking the place of the traditional people carrier and saloon with the Range Rover Evoque being one of the most popular selling models in the UK.

With a top speed of 113mph and getting from 0-60 in 10.6 seconds, the Evoque matches Eric Bailly for power, speed and safety where its needed most.

4. Mats Hummels

An iconic pairing which needs little explanation, Mats Hummels is a model of style, class and composure which is all underpinned by dominating power, leadership and presence.

So far in his career, Hummels has won the Bundesliga, World Cup, DFB – Pokal and DFL – Supercup. He has also been named in the; ESM Team of The Year, FIFA World Cup All Star Team, FIFA World Cup Dream Team, UEFA Europa League and Bundesliga Team of the Season.

The Mercedes GLC is a car perfectly suited to match the Germans attributes, its poised balance of style and strength on the road makes it one of the best looking and performing SUV’s on the planet.

The GLC is fitted with Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Electronic Stability Programme, Crosswind Assist and Attention Assist, making it one of the safest SUV’s on the market.

5. Paul Pogba

At the age of 23 the Frenchman is already considered to be one of the best players on the planet. Manchester United paid a monumental £89 million for his services after letting him go for free three years ago!

Known affectionately during his time in Italy as II Polpo Paul (Paul the Octopus) for his long tentacle-like legs or, Pogboom, for his explosive style of play, Pogba is a man known to possess incredible talent.

His individual and club honours include; Four Serie A titles, Two Coppa Italia Wins, U20 World Cup, Golden Boy, Serie A Team of the Year, FIFA World Cup Best Young Player, UEFA Team of the Year, FIFAPRO World XI and Serie A Top Assist-Provider.

There is only one car which can compare to such prestige, the Bugatti Veyron. The single most expensive road car on the planet, masterfully engineered.

With a top speed of 254mph the French made car is a true beast on the road.

It’s cost of £1.7 million pales in comparison to Pogba as Manchester United could have bought an entire fleet of 52 Bugatti’s for the price they paid for the Frenchman.

6. N'Golo Kante

It’s fair to say that N’golo Kanté was instrumental in helping Leicester win the Premier League last year which is why Chelsea decided to pay £30 million for the French midfield destroyer.

Combining superhuman stamina to harry opponents and break up play, Kante could go on to emulate his compatriot and legend of the game, Claude Makelele, who played the same position at Chelsea.

Kanté made 175 tackles during the season, 31 more than any player, and 156 interceptions, 15 more than any other player.

Combine that with the fact that he only received three yellow cards all season, Kanté is clearly a player with phenomenal positional understanding and timing.

It was only three seasons ago when Kante was playing in the third division in France, however, he is now the proud owner of a Premier League Winners Medal and has also played for the French national side during Euro 2016.

Just like Kanté, The Toyota Hilux is a pickup capable of running like no other car can.

As famously demonstrated on Top Gear, the Hilux seems to be indestructible and like Kante, simply refuses to give up until victory is secured.

7. Sadio Mane

The new Liverpool man is devastating going forward as demonstrated during his time at Southampton, justifying the £36 million paid for his services.

The huge fee makes him the most expensive African player of all time and Liverpool’s all-time record signing.

Only time will tell if he can go on and emulate the likes of other African greats such as Samuel Eto or Didier Drogba who both won African Player of the Year.

His electric pace, quick feet and core strength make him an intimidating presence going forward which was demonstrated last season when he scored the fastest hat trick in premier league history in 2 minutes and 56 seconds.

The Audi RS7 Sportsback combines all of these qualities masterfully which makes it a formidable presence on the road, boasting a top speed of 189mph.

It’s robust build matches that of Mané, he has only ever missed 5 games through injury in his entire professional career.

8. Leroy Sane

The youthful German combines a flurry of pace, power and skill to fly past his opponents on the pitch and has the potential to be one of the best players in the world for Manchester City.

Leroy Sane is the second most expensive German of all time and the son of former German rhythmic gymnast champion Regina Weber and former Senegalese international striker Souleymane Sane, so you can see where some of his talent comes from!

The Porsche 718 Boxster is a nippy and agile vehicle which can tear its competition to pieces much like the former Schalke man is capable of.

With a top speed of 177mph, the Porsche 718 Boxster is a car with pace to burn.

Much like the parents of Leroy Sane, the 718 has its own predecessor which was driven on the race track in the 50’s and came third in the world greatest car endurance race, Le Mans, in 1958.

9. Mario Gotze

Borussia Dortmund parted with £20 million to bring their former playmaker back from arch rivals Bayern Munich this summer as the gifted German found playing time in Bavaria hard to come by.

Becoming the most expensive German player of all time and scoring the winning goal in the World Cup final in Brazil two years ago, Götze has certainly made some big headlines, especially now that he has re-joined his former club and admitted that he regretted moving to Bavaria!

He will join the likes of Marco Reus and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang at Dortmund to form a formidable front line which will feature in the Champions League after a brief year long absence.

The Golf GTI is a car which mirrors many of Mario Götze’s qualities as its agility, power and compact nature enables the hatchback to navigate the roads with ease and composure.

It can’t compete with some of the other cars on this list for raw power, much like Götze can’t compete for pace with the likes of his German compatriot Sane!

However, for a hatchback, the Golf GTI still packs a punch with a top speed of 153mph.

10. Gonzalo Higuain

Having proved his supreme finishing ability at Real Madrid in Spain and Napoli in Italy, the Argentinian striker commanded an eye watering transfer to Juventus for £75 million.

The all-time goal record set by Gino Rossetti of 35 goals, which had stood for 65 years, was beaten by Higuaín who netted 36 goals in Serie A last season, making him one of the hottest properties in Europe.

As a player applying his trade in Italy, a suitable match would be the beautifully crafted Ferrari 458, a car with style and top class driving ability.

Its top speed of 199mph is sure to get the heart racing much like Higuaín’s deadly striking ability.

Both car and man share typical Italian style which is distinctive the world over.

11. Zlatan Ibrahimovic

He cost Manchester United nothing but is one of the biggest footballing names in the world.

Zlatan Ibrahimović is truly one of a kind and has strutted his huge 6,5” frame around Europe and its biggest clubs. His clubs include Ajax, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and now Manchester United.

His honours list is arguably the most impressive of all of the players on this list as the big Swede has won league titles in Holland, Spain, Italy and France, with his eyes now firmly fixed on adding England to his roll call with Manchester United.

He has scored a total of 396 goals in 680 appearances, making Zlatan one of the deadliest strikers on the planet.

A car which is just as recognisable and iconic is the Aston Martin DB9.

A vehicle which demands attention wherever it goes and is recognised as a stunning piece of engineering and motoring design.

The car featured in several James Bond films and holds the record for the most flips ever captured on film during a scene in Casio Royale.

The DB9 isn’t the fastest with a top speed of 183mph but it’s poise on the road matches that of Zlatan’s on the pitch.
