When most people think of Temptation they think of sex or drugs. Most don’t think of sleep as a temptation. But in the book of Matthew when Jesus went up the mountain to pray to God he told his disciples to stay woke and not yield to temptation. Their temptation was giving in to the sweet temptation of sleep. Their eyes were heavy and even though they loved Jesus they gave in to the temptation of sleep.
40Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is Weak.
What is your temptation today? Are you tempted to doubt and give up on God’s promises to you because you are tired of the wait, the struggle and the longing to walk in the Promise right now this very moment? I was sent to tell you Yield Not To Temptation. You are days, hours, and minutes closer to your breakthrough if you faint not. So if you are too tired to hold on allow God to hold on to you. Rest in His promises and see things from the lens of faith. For it shall be!
