These days it can be really tempting to stay Indoors all day, especially with all of the technology we have. We can watch TV to keep up on what’s happening in the word, read books to boost our vocabulary and even follow fitness programs to stay in shape.
The ease of staying indoors can be especially true if you are a stay at home parent. Lots of parents fill their homes with all the modern appliances and toys, meaning that they only leave the house when they need to or if essentials such as grocery shopping need to be done. Although nowadays that can be done at home too through online shopping services at Amazon, Walmart, or even local grocery stores like HEB.
However, staying indoors too much is not beneficial to our Health. We’ve all heard how a little bit of fresh can do us good and it seems to be true. Even though it can be easier to stay indoors, you should make the effort to get outside especially if you have kids.
Getting outside and breathing in fresh air, taking part in outdoor activities, and appreciating the nature around us are all beneficial to our health and wellbeing – mentally and physically. By going outdoors for just an hour a day, you may be able to see your health benefitting in different, but still nevertheless important, ways.
Walking Does A Body Good
Walking can be a great way to clear your mind and to exercise your body at the same time. If you have had a difficult day, take a walk around the neighborhood and simply focus on where you are Walking and your surroundings. You can even practice deep breathing techniques to alleviate any stress and to focus your mind.
Walking does not have to be very demanding, either, and when you get home you can relax on the porch. Put your feet up on your new porch railing installation, skim through the pages of a book or talk to loved ones on the phone. Bust stress and increase happiness at the same time!
Ditch The Car And Walk
If you live within walking distance of stores, consider walking there instead of driving or ordering things online. By shopping locally, you are not only benefiting your community but you will also be benefiting yourself.
If you were to shop at a store which was a 15-minute walk away, this is a comfortable distance to get decent exercise. You then would also be carrying what you bought back to your home – giving yourself an upper workout as well as a lower body one. This will also help you cut out buying unnecessary items, saving you money!
