Aspinal of London Midi Mayfair Bag Review

Aspinal of London Midi Mayfair bag

I have to admit, I am not a huge royals person. I don't really follow much of it all and even when Will and Kate and Meghan and Harry got married, I didn't really pay attention all that much. It's similar to my 'I don't pay attention to what's going on in Hollywood/with celebrities'. I just don't have the desire to keep up with it all. My sister is so funny, she knows who is dating who in Hollywood and all of that, and most of the people she mentions, I don't even know who they are! I will say, though, I Love the show The Crown. I think it is so well done and just absolutely fascinating, but that's the extent to which I pay attention to any of it.

I guess my attention goes towards influencers, clothing/accessories brands and designers, Nancy Meyers,  interior designers, and the Summer House and Southern Charm cast, haha!!!

But, I will say that I love to see the fashion of it all. Same with Hollywood, I like to see the recaps on blogs and social media with what people are wearing. I particularly love Princess Kate's style and overall, the grace and elegance in which she carries herself in her beautiful outfits! I think the way she pairs high street pieces with royal jewels is a true skill (although I am sure she has a team of stylists, too).

One of the bags she is often seen carrying is the Aspinal of London Midi Mayfair bag which is a faux croc embossing on patent leather. I had been wanting one forever and finally treated myself to it during their Black Friday sale this past holiday season (their sale saved me about $200ish).

I wanted to give myself time to take it for a spin before I gave my full review and stamp of approval but long story short, I absolutely love it and it has become one of my most carried handbags in the last 6 months!

The Look
I think this is what I was most drawn to about it. It's very structured which makes it very ladylike and polished in appearance. The size is truly perfect because it works as both a daytime and evening bag. I also love that the branding is very subtle and really just blends into the bag. I feel that the look of this bag is neither 'in' nor 'out' so its silhouette will stand the test of time.

The Versatility
I love that it has a detachable shoulder strap. It looks so feminine and dainty when the strap is removed and carried by the handle. I also think it looks dressier/more elegant without the shoulder strap, but during the day, the strap really comes in handy for comfort and hands-free carrying. I've noticed that most celebrities carry it without the shoulder strap. I also love that it is season-less and the soft taupe color matches practically everything.

The Interior
the interior is lined with the most beautiful pink grosgrain fabric. The fabric is so high quality. The interior is separated into two sections. The separator is a zipped portion. The interior is not the most spacious but has always been plenty big enough for me to carry anything I would ever put in a handbag like this. It holds my wallet, car key, lip gloss, hand sanitizer, mints, hair ties, etc. The back of the bag also has a pouch (without a zipper) that I will usually stash my phone in for easy access!

The Quality
The bag is not cheap, however, I think they could easily get away with charging double the price. I know bags like Mark Cross are more costly and the quality of Aspinal of London, in my opinion, is on the same level. They also have an outlet section on their site of items with reduced prices and some of the things are an absolute steal!

I wanted to show some photos of myself carrying the bag so you can get an idea on the size of the bag compared to my 5'6" frame as well as a few ways I have styled this bag.

All-in-all, you cannot go wrong with this beautiful handbag and I love it so much. I am not one to buy the same handbag in a different color, but I am strongly considering getting the same bag in the beautiful deep emerald green color. I think it's just stunning and I don't own a single green handbag!

I also own this trinket bag in navy blue, it was my first foray into the Aspinal of London brand and I absolutely love it. The craftmanship is just topnotch and each of the pieces feels so special!
