Post-Workout Skin TLC

For me, working out is a lifestyle. I enjoy the routine of it all and of course, the endorphins that follow an intense workout. Along with keeping my body healthy, it’s important for me to give my skin a lot of TLC post-workout. By the time I’ve finished a good workout, I am usually full of sweat, smelling ripe, and in dire need of a shower. My skincare routine is fairly simple post-workout because let’s face it, I’m sore and wanting to reap the maximum benefits of clean, healthy skin with minimal effort.

These are my essentials from Rite Aid for a simple but effective post-workout skincare routine.

Rehydrate. I drink a boatload of water throughout the day and on days when I’m exercising really hard, I like to give myself a boost by taking these Hydralyte Effervescent Electrolyte Tablets. It’s as simple as dropping it into some water and letting it dissolve. These have 75% less sugar and 4x the electrolytes of sports drinks.

As a bonus, they make my skin glow from the inside out and keep my immune system strong even through winter and working out next to people constantly!

Restart. Micellar water is one of my absolute favorite beauty products of all-time. Even though I workout with no makeup on, I know there is sweat, oil, and dirt on my skin after a workout session. Neutrogena Deep Clean Micellar Water removes waterproof makeup, impurities, oil, and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

A little bit of this on a cotton pad will keep your skin soft, healthy, and glowing. I am always shocked at how much comes off my face after a workout despite the fact that I do not wear makeup while exercising. This is a crucial step for me in my skincare routine because it lets you start with a clean slate on your skin post-workout.

Refresh. This Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub is a product I’ve been using since I was a teenager. It gives my skin a cooling, tingly feeling that feels oh-so-great after a workout. It also exfoliates any dead skin cells and generally feels super refreshing after intense workouts.

The cooling sensation makes it especially great for those who want a little spa-like treatment after working out.

I picked these products up from my local Rite Aid, which I’ve loved since I was a teenager. I have fond memories of my mom taking me to Rite Aid after I received my allowance so that I could pick out the latest beauty products. I’d rush home to take a shower and use them. I guess some things never change?
