5 Android Data Recovery Apps to Count On this 2018

The Android Data Recovery Apps listed in the Google Play Store don’t seem to all work for several reasons. Some aren’t really true to its promise of recovering deleted files, even with very poor reviews and outdated. So I decided to compile at least 5 popular data recovery apps that you can use in any case you need to for your Android handsets.

Needless to say, it’s a total nightmare when you accidentally delete important and personal apps, photos, videos and other data on your smartphone. On some rare occasions, you loose data on your phone either because someone (not you) accidentally deleted it, or in worse cases, the file gets corrupted. These instances are usually termed as data loss. It’s an incident every smartphone user have encountered at least once or twice, and it’s totally inevitable since accidents do really happen.

But, little do most people know, when you delete (by accident or on purpose) data and files on your phone, they don’t really get deleted right away, unless they get overwritten. Now this is where Data Recovery Apps do come in.

Data Recovery Apps are nifty softwares that are capable of recovering deleted data on devices. These kind of softwares are actually available for PC’s, Macs and mobile devices as well. But for this article, we will specifically focus on Data Recovery Apps for Android devices, most of which are Free to use.

There are a lot of Android Data Recovery Apps available from the Google Play Store, but not all actually does the job. And most working apps does require your device to be rooted for it to work.

Join us, as we run through some of the Data Recovery Apps for Android. Note that we cannot guarantee the success rate of these apps, and that use them at your own risk.

Android Data Recovery Apps:

Dumpster – Recycle Bin (Free from the Google Play Store)

With over a 10-million of installs and an average rating of 4.2 stars from over 200,000 users, Dumpster is probably the most reliable app there is from the Google Play store for data recovery. The app mainly features Photo and video files restoration, as well as photo and video previews before initiating the recovery process. What’s great is that Dumpster also supports App undeletes, and backup features for other Android apps and media files.

Recycle Bin (Free from the Google Play Store, with an in-app purchase to remove ads)

As the name of the app suggests, it is basically a Recycle bin for Android, just like the Recycle Bin for Windows and Trash for Mac users. What this app does is when you delete a file from your device, the file is moved from its original location to your recycle bin. But, for the app to work correctly, you’d need to first install a third party file explorer app on your device. As of this writing, the app has an average of 3.8 stars from over 16,000 users at the Google Play Store.

Developed by Fahrbot, Undeleter for Root Users supports up to a thousand type of files, as the app claims. The app allows users whose devices are rooted to recover deleted files such as photos, videos and other data either from the device’s internal storage or on the SD card. Aside from this, the app also comes with a secure delete and shred features, that lets users permanently delete files and data without possibility for recovery. The downside is, an unlocked key is required to access most features. The free version only supports photo recovery.

What’s great is that users do not need to have their devices rooted for the app to work. Additionally, the app features are free to use, with no PRO features to pay for. On top of these, there’s also a Lock App with Password feature which protects your privacy with password to avoid privacy leak.

I would like to reiterate the Android Data Recovery Apps and software mentioned cannot guarantee it can successfully recover lost data on your device. But I’ve tested these and so far it worked on my end. There are always ways to keep you safe from permanent data loss like making back-ups of your important photos, files, videos and whatnots, especially now that there are a lot of Cloud based storage apps that allows automatic file back ups, which users can take advantage of.
