It’s National Daughters Day

With two wonderful daughters, it’s great that there’s a day to celebrate them.

I’m so fortunate. My daughters are the greatest joy in my life along with my grandchildren.

Why is there a day to celebrate daughters?

The original meaning behind this day may have come from India. There has been a stigma attached to being a girl child in India. While this may no longer be true in the big cities, it’s still widespread in the country.

So, what to do on on National Daughters Day? Treat your daughter. A dinner out, a movie, a walk. Something she’d like.

Unfortunately, my daughters live too far away for me to see them today. However, I have several treats planned for them when I see them for the holidays.
