HARROGATE CHARITY BEER AND MUSIC FESTIVAL

Location: The Crown Hotel, Harrogate, HG1 2RZ
Date: 16-18 March
With fringe events and live music to enjoy alongside a great selection of local beers, this year’s event organised by Harrogate Round Table, should have something for everyone – including a wide range of ciders and wine for those whose taste for beer is limited, no need to miss out on the fun.

THE YORKSHIRE HEART BEER AND MUSIC FESTIVAL

Location: Pool Lane, Nun Monkton YO26 8EL
Date: 28-29 April

Billed as “A true celebration of Yorkshire products with a fantastic selection of Yorkshire real ales, cider and lager. Our own award winning wines produced from grape to glass right here in Nun Monkton.” This is a family event with BBQ, bouncy castle, rides and games, plus live music throughout the day.

RIPON CATHEDRAL BEER FESTIVAL

Location: Deer Park, Ripon Cathedral
Date: Monday 1 May
Bank Holiday Monday sees a welcome return of this annual event with award-winning beers, great food and live music raising money for Ripon Cathedral. This is one festival where it’s all about the setting, as well as the drink. Last year saw children’s activities and free entry for children – check out the details for this year’s event nearer the time.

BEER TOWN

Location: Malton
Date: 18-20 May
This is a festival all about craft beer. Founded by Bad Seed and Brass Castle breweries, this event, now in its fourth year, has turned Malton into a beacon for craft beer. BEERTOWN also raises funds for Ryedale Special Families – a fantastic local charity based in Malton that supports children with special needs. The 2017 plan is to feature over 50 beers covering a wide variety of styles -from fruity hoppy IPAs to rich sweet malt treats, German style wheat beer to sours and barrel aged specialities. This being Malton, there will naturally be the best of local artisan street food available too.

CLAROFEST 2017

Location: The Hotel De Ville (Star Club), Ripley
Date: 25-26 August
This festival will have a carefully selected range of 20+ beers plus cider, wines and soft drinks are also available. Brewers across the country have been chosen and so the beers will come from far and wide and will include some unusual ales as well as old favourites. There will be entertainment on Saturday night, and there’s no need to drive as the 36 bus stops right outside. Clarofest is run by the Harrogate & Ripon branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

YORK BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL

Location: The Knavesmire, York
Date: 20-23 September
With 500 beers and 100 ciders available, this could well be Yorkshire’s biggest beer festival. It’s run by CAMRA, the people who really know what makes a good beer and they even welcome children until 20:00 each day and well-behaved dogs too, though not to partake of the ales.

REAL ALE AND FOOD FESTIVAL

Location: RHS Harlow Carr
Date: 9-10 September
A lovely setting, deck chairs and garden games, all add to the relaxed atmosphere of this festival that celebrates not only the best of local brewing but also offers a tempting selection of local street foods. See www.rhs.org.uk nearer the time for all the latest plans.
