My absolute favorite fashion week beauty trend was the hair Ribbon. Designers like Tory Burch used a simple ribbon tied around a ponytail to bring a touch of femininity to their collections. It’s such an easy DIY project that instantly transforms the feel of your outfit. Here are my three tips for rocking the hair trend:
1. Keep it low.
Whether you do a side part, middle part or no part at all, keep your ponytail low to achieve a chic, romantic look. While I’m all about high ponytails, adding a ribbon to the mix reminds me too much of my grade school days. Did anyone else match their hair accessories to their uniforms?
2. Go for soft fabric.
You can play with any color ribbon you like. For one look I did pink and for the other I re-used the packaging from my Chanel bag. The only thing to remember is to opt for a soft fabric so it flows with your ponytail.
3. Mind your ends.
Whatever ribbon you decide on, make sure to cut it before tying. I like to cut mine at a diagonal but if you’re feeling fancy you can fold the ends in half and cut it into an inverted V.
If you don’t have any ribbon around the house, you can always buy a pre-made ribbon ponytail holder, too! I found some cute options here, here and here.
