Oktoberfest is a celebration everyone must experience at least once in their lifetimes. Unfortunately, not everyone can make it out to Munich to experience the real thing firsthand. That’s why it’s good to know there are Oktoberfests that take place all over the world.
One Oktoberfest you won’t want to miss is the Cape Coral Oktoberfest. Presented by the German American Social Club, this Cape Coral, FL event is one you won’t want to miss. Here’s what you can expect when you visit.
About Cape Coral Oktoberfest
The Cape Coral Oktoberfest takes place over the course of two weekends. The 2022 event will mark the 37th event of its kind. It will happen October 21-23, and 28-30.
Festival hours are as follows:
• Friday 4PM- midnight
• Saturday: noon to midnight
• Sunday: noon to 8PM
It offers terrific food, German beer, live music, dancing, and more
Tickets
Advance tickets are $6 and they are $8 at the door. Children 12 and under can get in free.
The organization also offers a ridesharing option. If you use Uber or Lyft to get to the festival, you can show your receipt and get $2 off your admission ticket. You can also scan the QR code on their website to get $5 off the ride.
Entertainment
The festival features a big tent with two stages and a giant dance floor. There will also be bands in the Bavarian Garden playing everything from blues to polka.
There is also a carnival area for the kids. Vendors and exhibitors will be selling goods including souvenirs, beer steins, t-shirts, hats, and pins.
Ms. Oktoberfest
Every year a Ms. Oktoberfest is announced. She plays a major role in the annual celebration.
Food and Drink
Vendors at the event will be serving a variety of German foods. These include:
• Schnitzel platter
• Schnitzel on a stick
• German potato salad
• Sauerkraut
• Pretzels
• Bratwurst
• Bauernwurst
• Potato pancakes
• Schnitzel
• Sauerbraten
• Dumplings
• Red cabbage
There will also be regular festival fare including:
• Pizza
• Gyros
• Souvlaki
• Hamburgers
• Hot dogs
• Popcorn
• Ice cream
The beverage selection includes:
• Imported German Bier
• Domestic beer
• German wine and spirits
• Non-alcoholic beer
• Soft drinks
• Bottled water
Sit down dinners will be served in the von Steuben Hall.
About the German American Social Club
Cape Coral Oktoberfest is brought to you by the German American Social Club. The organization was founded in 1964. It serves to promote good fellowship and it hosts a variety of social activities throughout the year. Their Oktoberfest event is the largest party of the year for the community.
