Travel: Little Rocktoberfest- Little Rock’s Premier Oktoberfest Celebration

Oktoberfest is a celebration that takes place every fall in Munich, Germany. It pays homage to all things German, the food, the costumes, the customs, and especially, the beer. People come from all over the world to participate.

Unfortunately, not everyone can make it out to Germany for Oktoberfest. That’s why cities throughout the globe celebrate Oktoberfest in their own way.

Little Rock is a great example. This Arkansas city hosts a Little Rocktoberfest that you can’t afford to miss. Read on to find out what’s involved.

About Little Rocktoberfest

The 2022 Little Rocktoberfest will be happening on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 6-9 PM at the War Memorial Stadium. It is presented by the Central Arkansas Fermenters.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample commercial beers from across the world as well as the latest from Arkansas craft breweries. There will also be a bratwurst dinner and a Homebrew Exhibition.

Ticketing

There are three tiers of ticketing as follows:

• General Admission: $40, $45 day of event

• VIP: $45, $50 day of event

• Designated Driver: $25, $30 day of event

(Taxes and fees not included)

Events and Activities

Here is what’s included in each ticket tier.

General Admission:

• Bratwurst dinner

• Unlimited commercial and homebrew samples

• 6 PM admission

• Free parking

VIP:

• Bratwurst dinner

• Unlimited commercial and homebrew samples

• Early 5 PM admission

• Free parking

• Souvenir SiliPint Glass

• Early access to VIP beers from breweries

Designated Driver:

• Bratwurst dinner with soft drink

• Free parking

Homebrew Exhibition

The Homebrew Exhibition is where guests can find the best Central Arkansas homebrewers eager to share the samples they created. You will find a variety of creative beers, meads, and ciders.

Those who serve at the Homebrew Exhibition may also be entered into the Little Rocktoberfest Brew Off, a BJCP sanctioned competition. The brewer voted as having the best beer wins.

Charity

Each year, the Central Arkansas Fermenters choose a charity beneficiary for their Little Rocktoberfest event. This year, they have chosen the Miracle League of Arkansas. It provides disabled children with the opportunity to play on a baseball field and get together with professional players.

Things to Do in Little Rock

Here are some things to do in Little Rock when you are not enjoying Little Rocktoberfest:

• Big Dam Bridge: A major tourist attraction, this is the largest bicycle and pedestrian bridge in North America offering over 14 miles of riverside trails.

• Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site: This school was the first to welcome African American teenagers. It has since been converted into a museum to honor those students and all they’ve accomplished.

• Metro Streetcar: Once an authentic railway system, the Metro Streetcar takes riders to various Little Rock attractions for free.

• Pinnacle Mountain State Park: This 2000-acre park is full of rivers, mountains, and hot springs.

• River Market: River Market offers eateries, shops, and entertainment venues.

• Little Rock Zoo: Little Rock boasts the biggest zoo in Arkansas. It’s a great way to spend the day.

• Clinton Presidential Center: This Clinton Presidential Library and Museum is a standing tribute to Bill Clinton offering awe-inspiring architectural features.

• Whole Hog Café: This is one of Arkansas’s best destinations for Southern food.

• Arkansas Repertory Theatre: Check out what’s going on at the theater when you’re in town.

• Funland Amusement Park: This small family-friendly amusement park offers fun times for all.

Not everyone can make it out to Munich for Oktoberfest. Fortunately, Little Rock offers a great alternative. Will you be making plans to visit for the coming season?
