Decorating: How to Add Different Wood Patterns for Christmas tree Ornaments

No matter how old one’s Christmas Ornaments collection is, the charm of those never fade. You will find the ornaments drawing you towards them like magnet each year as the season approaches. But even better are those Wooden ornaments you make together as a fun, family activity during the season’s festivities.

This year, we thought we’d give you some great ideas for different wood pattern ornaments. Regardless of how they turn out, you will love making precious and special family memories together.

1.     Santa Sleigh

This year, sway visitors with Santa in his mini walnut shell slight. For this ornament, you need a mini wooden peg doll. Then take a fine-tip black marker and draw eyes on the face of your wooden doll. Wrap the doll’s body in a red felt and secure it with some hot glue and make a hat with the same felt too.

Then take a small wooden cube, wrap it in green felt and tie a ribbon round it for the present. Next, take empty walnut shells, drill small holes on the sides and run a thin twine through them. Place the wooden Santa and its present, secure with glue and tie the ornament on to the tree.

2.     Olaf

Take some white felt and cut body shapes out of it. Then take some black felt and cut eyebrows, mouth and buttons out of it. Attach them to the body and also remember to add tiny googly eyes under the brows. Make a small carrot nose with tiny felt and stick below the eyes.

Then take a twine piece, mini twigs for the arms and attach your Olaf figure to it.

3.     Wooden Snowman

You will need three wooden craft beads for this one and white acrylic paint. After you have painted the beads, run a piece of twine through holes you will make in the beads and then knot them together. Then attach two tiny rhinestones for its eyes and four on the body for buttons.

Attach a tiny piece of orange felt for the nose and tiny twigs on the sides for the arms. Make a mini hat with black felt, stick it on the top and run a red string through the hat to tie on to your tree. Your wooden snowman is ready.

4.     Wood Slices

You can celebrate your family’s travels in the form of ornaments. Take wood slices and paint state decals on each slice. Drill a tiny hole on each slice and run a colorful ribbon through it. You can capture all the travels you shared as a family into simple and memorable ornaments.

5.     Wood Bead Snowflakes

All you need are simple wooden beads and monochromatic twine for these. Run the beads through the twine and then stick them together in the form of snowflakes. Tie a string below the first bead of a snowflake and hang it on your tree.

Final Thoughts

It is not the glamour and dazzle of parties that makes Christmas special. Rather, it is evenings full of warmth, laughter and shared memories as a family that makes every Christmas special. This year, round up all your family members for a night of merry making, wooden ornaments making and lots of goodies for wonderful memories together.
