Growth Mindset- 5 Simple Ways To Start Your Success

The growth Mindset, what is it? Are you one who thinks they are going to fail something just because you don’t know how to do it? Have you failed so many times in the past that you are convinced you cannot do it? Or are you one who fails and keeps trying until you conquer that task of skill?

If you are the latter of the examples, you have a growth mindset. For those of you who feel like there is nothing else you can do because you failed, you most likely have a Fixed Mindset.

With a fixed mindset, one believes their qualities are fixed and cannot be changed. As for the growth mindset, one comprehends intelligence can be developed.

Those encouraged to learn more have a different attitude/behavior about everything in life compared to others. They develop a growth mindset.

Example: People who see challenges as opportunities to grow, even with failure, have a growth mindset. They will develop more self-confidence and less self-doubt. Those who give up on the first try have a fixed mindset.

Growth Mindset Activities

Self-Exploration

With self-exploration, you dive into your mindset and start making changes to your mindset now.

Check out this video called “Lost Generation” for a wonderful example!

Take Action

Taking action is the simplest form of a growth mindset.  Just do it! Start something new and learn a new habit, subject, hobby, etc. Starting is the hardest part!

With a fixed mindset, no one wants to get out of their comfort zone. With a growth mindset, they have an attitude of “just doing it.” They are passionate about life. They will explore their passions and try new things.

Self-Reflection

Self-exploration is your internal act while self-exploration is an external act.

Focus on the skills you have built and improve them. It helps you realize where we first started and how you got better over time. Be sure to focus on your progress too.

Think back to your first day on the job or that art piece you have been working on. Maybe you aspire to be a writer. Do you remember where you were then and where you are now? Same thing as self-reflecting.

Actively Look for Opportunities

Take something you are hesitant to do and do it. For example, public speaking, writing, taking video of yourself, anything you feel uncomfortable doing. This teaches you to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Develop Grit

This defines perseverance to meet the goals you set. It’s effort, hard work, and willingness to completion. Find something you are interested in and passionate about and develop and improve those skills to succeed over time.

To finalize, remember growth mindset activities are abundant! There is no set way to grow your growth mindset. Find what methods work for you and stick with them. If you like to change them up, do that too. Keep it fresh.
