Best Morning Routine for Success

Wake Up Early

This is probably what I see most often when I’m reading about successful people. They tend to wake up earlier than people who aren’t as productive or happy.

Not only do they wake up early, they wake up early early. I’m talking like 5:00 AM early. I know this isn’t for everyone. It’s definitely not for me- HA. But consider at least waking up 30 minutes earlier. This gives you time to get more stuff done, like getting a good workout in or just being productive in other ways.

Wake at 5:30, clear unread email, read news, workout, meditate, breakfast #before9am

Meditate Daily

Another morning habit that the majority of people have contributed to their success is meditating daily. Meditation is one of the best things you can do for mental health and personal growth.

It’s a way that you can step back from the world and just focus on your breathing.

Meditating daily has so many benefits like

  • Reducing stress
  • Controlling anxiety
  • Lengthening attention span
  • Fighting addictions
  • Improving sleep
  • Reducing pain
  • Increasing happiness

No wonder all of the successful entrepreneurs meditate!

Meditating is probably the number one habit you should start because it just has so many benefits.

You can start by getting in a comfy position and focus on your breath. It’s okay if thoughts come to your mind. Just observe that you’re having those thoughts and let them float on by like a stream or the clouds.Try starting out meditating for 5 minutes a day, and slowly increase the time,

Many people don’t realize that meditating is a skill. Just like anything else, you have to practice to get better at it. Don’t get frustrated if you get restless or you can’t “stop” your thoughts. A part of meditation is learning the process of how to step back and just observe your thoughts.

The best way to start meditating is by using guided meditations. These are usually serene pictures and a calm voice navigating you through the meditation, which is perfect for learning how to meditate for beginners.

“Meditation is like a gym in which you develop the powerful mental muscles of calm and insight.”

Ajahn Brahm

Workout in the Morning

Along with meditation, the most successful people in the world exercise. Some of the most successful people, like Warren Buffet and Barack Obama know how important exercise is and so they do it.

You can workout at any time, but a lot of people (including me) prefer to exercise in the morning.

When you exercise in the morning, it just gets your day started right. You’re already feel better about yourself, you’ve got those endorphins pumping, and now you don’t have to spend the day dreading your workout later that evening.

Exercise is a-mazing for stress relief. I can’t say that enough. If you’re ever feeling stress, try exercising and see what that does for you.

Another benefit of exercising in the morning is that is increases your metabolism throughout the day. So when you wake up early and get a good exercise routine going, you’re burning more calories throughout the day because it jump-starts your metabolism.

Not to mention, exercise is known to make people happier, and what’s more successful than that?

Keep a Journal

Similar to meditating, journaling is good for your mind and soul. What you’ll find in common among the most successful entrepreneurs is that they keep a journal.

There are a few different types of journals including

  • Gratitude journal
  • Bullet journal
  • Dream journal
  • Travel journal
  • Law of attraction journal
  • Diary

No matter what kind of journal you have, you can see the benefits of journaling. Journaling is a way to help you cope with stress and is wondering for your mental health.

Writing in your journal allows you to creatively process your thoughts and emotions and then can help you deal with them in a healthier way. You can simply write out the thoughts and feelings that you’re having when you’re feeling anxious and stress.

Gratitude journals are also amazing. Sometimes it’s hard to see the good in life. If you take just a few minutes to think about the things you’re grateful for, it makes you realize that there are good things in your life.

Gratitude journals are a perfect for the best morning routine for success because it makes you grateful and starts your day off in a positive way.

Another way I like to use journals is for bullet journaling. I like to keep a fitness tracker to track my workouts and a mood tracker to see patterns over time. You can also use this for any other part of your life, like for tracking your finances and habits.

Productive Morning Routine

Successful entrepreneurs know how to set the priorities. Being productive in the morning is one of the daily habits of highly successful people. In the mornings, they often get started on getting a lot of their work done so they can spend more time with their families.

Being productive is a habit you should start so you don’t put it off and end up doing whatever you need done last minute.

If feels so good to check off your to-do list early in the morning.

Do the biggest task you have that day first so it’s not in the back of your mind all day long.

I don’t know about you, but I get so stressed just thinking about everything I have to do while I’m laying in bed scrolling through social media. I scroll and scroll and scroll and get more stressed and more stressed. Just get it over with and learn how to be productive as a part of your morning routine!

Self Care Routine

Always remember to take care of yourself first! You should be productive, but you should also remember to have a self care routine.

This could be some of the stuff we’ve talked about before, like meditating and exercising.

It could also be drinking a lot of water, washing your face, gardening, cooking, or whatever makes you happy.

You can’t (and shouldn’t) be productive all of the time, and that’s okay.

What you should do is create time out of your day just to pamper yourself or do something that makes you happy.

“I have come to believe that caring for myself is not self-indulgent. Caring for myself is an act of survival.”

—Audre Lorde, writer, poet, and activist

Spend Time with your Friends and Family

The best morning routine for success includes spending time with the people you love. Don’t just wake up and go straight to your office and shut the door. Remember to spend time with your family.

Family should be one of your biggest priorities. A lot of people just work work work and then realize how time fast has gone and how little time they’ve spent with their families. Don’t be that person.

You could simply have a nice talk with them in the morning, go for a walk with them, or make breakfast with them.

Don’t be the person that looks back on their life and wishes they would have been more time with their family.

“No one ever said on their deathbed ‘I wish I’d spent more time at the office.’ ”

Harold Kushner

Plan Your Day

You shouldn’t only have a morning routine, but a daily routine as well. Sometimes it’s good to go with the flow, but on more stressful days you should plan out the rest of your day.

If you have a lot to do that day, block out time where you’ll do certain things. Break it down into small tasks.

Review your goals and block out time to do certain tasks. Make sure to include breaks!

The Best Morning Routine for Sucess

Looking at all of these habits to start in the morning can be daunting. I know it looks like there’s so much to do.

That’s why you need to implement these good habits into your morning and daily routine.

Once you make it a habit, it becomes second-nature.

Start using this morning routine for highly successful people to see success in your own life.

Don’t forget to pin it for later!
