Fire Potter Road – Quickly Knocked Down, Pet Rescued

A brush Fire behind a house near 500 Potter Rd extended into the rear of a house. It is reported to be a large fire at about 8:30 pm.

All residents had escaped however it was reported that two dogs were inside. The fire was reported to have spread to the attic. One ambulance was dispatched to the scene, unknown if any residents was transported.

Potter road is blocked off near Joyce Rd and at the Potter Road School.

By 8:40 one dog had been rescued, and another was being sought by FFD. The main fire was knocked down by 8:45 and the attic was being worked on.

By 8:50, reports indicated a hot and smoky attic, but the main fire out, and hotspots being tackled. At 8:55 the fire was reported as “under control”, noting minor hot spots and a currently burning brush fire outside.

Two occupants and two dogs were displaced and would be seeking accommodations with relatives.
