Arsenal hero Bukayo Saka labels Europa League goal ‘a dream come true’ as youngster runs Eintracht Frankfurt ragged

Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka has described his first Gunners goal as a ‘dream come true’ as he inspired them to a brilliant Europa League victory at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The game finished 3-0 with goals from Joe Willock, Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sinking the German side.

Saka stole the show though as he provided the assists for Willock and Aubameyang’s goals, while also bending the ball beautifully past Kevin Trapp on 85 minutes to make it 2-0.

The 18-year-old is the youngest player to score for Arsenal in the Europa League but this was not the only impressive Saka stat to come from the victory in Frankfurt.

According to Squawka, Saka created five chances which was more than any other Gunners star in the game.

He also had eight touches in the opposition box and three take-ons completed.

And after the match, Saka expressed his delight at bagging his first goal for Arsenal.

He said: “I’m so happy to score for Arsenal, it’s a dream come true.

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment since I was a kid and I’m just so happy that it’s finally happened.

“I just need to keep working hard to make sure I have this feeling again.”

Saka earned plaudits on Twitter from Arsenal players past and present.

Aubamyang tweeted a picture of the pair celebrating in the match with the caption: “Let’s say this young gunner (sic) is fire. Well done boys.”

Meanwhile, former Gooner Martin Keown suggested Saka looks a better player than forward Nicolas Pepe, who Arsenal forked out £72million for in the summer.

Keown said: “You think of the way Pepe’s playing at the moment, they paid £72m for him, and this kid looks better than him tonight.

“By the way Willock as well, gets the reward, I talked about it being a breakthrough moment for him.

“Yes they rode their luck, there was 24 chances for Frankfurt tonight, but they kept going.

“When he gets this ball here, the young boy Saka, this, look at this for composure.

“He’s passing that into the goal, it’s a beautiful finish. I think he’s 18 years of age. Unbelievable from him.”
