Staying confined, experiencing business failures and social distancing brings about a whole new way of life that most of us are not used to. These changes can bring about anger, fear, stress, frustration and discouragement in our lives especially at a time we didn't expect.

How to come out of quarantine sane and mentally sound

Eat right

Eat foods that boost your Brain like fatty fish or fish oil, blueberries, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, nuts, oranges, green tea, turmeric and eggs. Fatty fish, nuts and eggs help the development of your brain. Tea and coffee contain antioxidants that protect your brain from damage. Include these foods in tour diet to help your brain develop, function well and repair.

Avoid foods that contain high levels of sugar, over-processed food, too much fat, fish high in mercury, abuse of drugs and alcohol. They will make your brain tired and kill your brain cells.

There are many forms of exercise you can do at home during quarantine that can help your brain stay sane. During a crisis, your brain is the part of your body that suffers the most because it has to process all the emotions you are feeling at the same time. It is important to do exercises that will help you calm your mind and come back to your normal self after receiving all the various scary and frightening news and information.

Do some rope jumping, pushups, squats, yoga and other easy exercises you can do at home to stay fit. The few minutes you concentrate on working out at home enables you to clear your mind of negativities and fears.

Reading opens your mind, entertains it and calms it. It's like a work out for the brain because you will use your imagination a lot. Read a lot while confined. You can read books, magazines, newspapers, articles or blogs as you are doing now. This is a good distraction to help you stay sane.

Talk to someone

No matter how social distancing is important right now, human contact a,d staying in touch with loved ones is very important too. If you are alone right now, call a friend, spouse, children or family member. It is important as we were born to live together and not apart. Since we can't see each other for now, we can use technology to call, email, text or video call.

Just find a way to stay in touch with loved ones without putting your life or theirs in danger.
