The internet is buzzing with the public Love declaration by the Nigerian artist Davido to his girlfriend Chioma when he bought her a Porsche for her birthday this April 30th, 2018.
This story caught my attention because I found out that in the course of their Relationship, Davido has had other relationships which he has never hidden in the past and has even had two daughters from two of these relationships while dating Chioma his present girlfriend.
He is now saying he wants to have a baby boy with Chioma and he also takes her shopping abroad.
For her birthday last Monday, Davido bought her a Porsche and sang a song for her calling it an assurance.
Many people are saying that their relationship is definitely not 'goals' and that all the money he is spending on her is to make up for the times he cheated.
Now I don't know what kind of relationship they have had before it was made public but I can identify a problem that we women have when we get into relationships.
This problem is that most of us don't know our worth as a woman. Many of us women believe we exist because of men and when we find a man we love all we do is hang on and don't want to let go no matter how he treats us hoping that someday he will realise our worth. I think those are the words that I can describe this relationship with.
Unfortunately, a man doesn't recognise your worth when you stay with him no matter what he does to you. Well, some people are saying Chioma is a lucky girl because according to them Davido finally 'recognised' her worth and realised that she is the love of his life.
But did he really see her worth or is he just paying for damages and embarrassment he caused her during their relationship?
And this makes me also ask "Is her self-esteem worth a Porsche and designer wear? After being public about other relationships while you dated him he comes with a car as assurance for your love. Is that enough assurance? And why even make it public? To me, it's exposing her low self-esteem.
And with this coming public, I am tempted to believe it is a way to make his new song more popular and make his fans keep talking about him. Remember the time he supposedly quarrelled with Wizkid? No comment.
My takeaway from this story for all my girls out there is this! Don't sell cheap girls! You are worth more than all the Porsches in the world especially when it comes from a guy who has had no respect and consideration for you in the past. No expensive car is enough to buy your dignity and self-worth. Remember that.
If a guy is truly in love or sorry he will think of your image in public and how people will think of you. He will also at least always wear a condom in order to avoid having proof of his cheating considering that he is a star and women will obviously want to carry his child. But if he clearly shows that he doesn't care about embarrassing you then not even a Porche can restore your self-esteem.
Don't make him feel that he can treat you unfairly and then get you a Porsche in public in exchange for your love and patience with him. You are worth more than that girl.
Maybe if Davido wasn't that rich many people would have asked her to leave the guy but since he can afford a Porsche they are applauding her being patient with him.
