Recently Conscious Life Space presented a free forever gratitude course because lifelong Learning is an important value here. Unlike our self-paced course, there are many free and more formal courses offered online from formal institutions and universities that we can be grateful for as well! There are over 1000 free courses available on Coursera, and I’ve created a three-part series to share with you this week of interesting courses broken down by category including:
Philiosophy & Religion
There are courses from over 166 universities. Stanford, Yale, Northwestern amongst many others offer courses through this platform and YES they are FREE. Some offer paid certificates so you have that option as well but in the case that you don’t require or want that, simply choose to ‘audit’ the course. Most of the courses repeat throughout the year but not always and many of them are starting in the next week or 2.
Lifelong learning is especially important in our information age.Unless you don’t have an internet connection (some libraries pick-up the slack on that too) we really don’t have any excuses anymore.

Learning How to Learn and Mindshift are companion courses and can be taken together or separately. Both of them made the all-time Top 50 list of courses offered. Mindshift is more career focused, and Learning How to Learn is more learning focused.
Learning How to Learn: Powerful mental tools to help you master tough subjects, University of California, San Diego
This course gives you easy access to the invaluable learning techniques used by experts in art, music, literature, math, science, sports, and many other disciplines. We’ll learn about the how the brain uses two very different learning modes and how it encapsulates (“chunks”) information. We’ll also cover illusions of learning, memory techniques, dealing with procrastination, and best practices shown by research to be most effective in helping you master tough subjects.
Using these approaches, no matter what your skill levels in topics you would like to master, you can change your thinking and change your life. If you’re already an expert, this peep under the mental hood will give you ideas for: turbocharging successful learning, including counter-intuitive test-taking tips and insights that will help you make the best use of your time on homework and problem sets. Mindshift: Break Through Obstacles to Learning and Discover Your Hidden Potential, McMaster University

We all want to be happy….um or at least I think that’s a true statement.

What are the determinants of a happy and fulfilling life? This is surely one of life’s biggest questions, and a question that has interested many of our ancestors. Buddha famously gave up his kingdom in search of happiness. Several Greek philosophers (from Aristotle to Epicurus and Plato to Socrates) had their own views on what it takes to be happy.
