Definitely had to share these powerful Words of Wisdom from the legendary Patti LaBelle today!

We tend to back away from uncertain circumstances or leads to better our lives strictly out of fear. Not Miss Patti! Back in her Labelle days, she recalled having the idea to perform at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, which would’ve been huge for the group. Instead of dismissing the idea as as a crazy one that was never going to happen, Patti decided to go for it. She spoke to the promoter, and was able to land LaBelle a gig at the Met!

To anyone having doubts in their skills, the legendary singer had a wise message for them. “Get out of your own way,” Patti said. “You’re worthy of anything you know you can do well.”

This really resonated with me. I know I’ve turned away opportunities or didn’t go after new opportunities, simply because I was afraid that I wasn’t good enough. I’ve gotten better at it, but I still struggle with that from time to time. This video from Patti pushes me not to punk out! To push through my fear and go after new things regardless. I hope it encourages y’all to do the same.
