August Instagram Stories: 2017

August in Review

I’m writing this with a slight crispness to the cool air outside, watching the trees leaves begin to change colour ready to fall. I can’t quite believe it’s September, but I’m so excited to see what it brings. It’s always been my favourite month, and I can’t wait for autumn to come rolling in!

August flew by in the blink of an eye. For so long August had been something to look forward to, as it was when we would be witnessing two of our Close Friends marry each other in Northern Ireland. Not only was it full of celebration, but we get to explore the beauty of the Causeway Coast with a group of our close friends who flew over for the wedding. Making new memories and getting to know somewhere I had never adventured to before.

Before I knew it, our journey around Northern Ireland had come to an end, and several stories later – we were back in our home city of Edinburgh. With a swift two day turn around, I was back on another plane heading down to Bristol for a long weekend for one of my best friends Lauren’s hen do. Who I can’t quite believe, is getting married next month now! When did we all grow up?

Places Travelled

Northern Ireland was a whirlwind of adventures, moving daily to a new destination. We started in the Republic of Ireland for our close friends wedding in the beautiful Castle Leslie Estate. Staying the night in a real life fairytale castle, soothing sore heads in the morning after, before driving onto Londonderry.

From Londonderry we followed the Causeway Coast along dramatic coastlines and rolling hills, through Bushmills to the Giants Causeway. Until we reached our final destination exploring Belfast before flying home. A trip which will stay with me for a lifetime, with wonderful memories spent with friends, from dancing the night away at the wedding, to getting the most soaked in my life on the Giants Causeway!

Up & Coming

I feel so incredibly humbled to be able to say that my adventures don’t stop here just yet. September brings a new escape into the highlands and beyond, where Luke and I will be driving the North Coast 500 route around Scotland to the very top. From camping under the stars at John O’ Groats to wandering the depths of Glencoe, I can’t wait.

With the year already drawing to a close, in November we are setting flight to Iceland for a trip of a lifetime and somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for so very long. Hoping to see the Northern Lights and take in the beauty of the glaciers in winter, I’ve never been so excited for the year to roll on!

What have you been up to in August?
