Neuroscience Reveals What Fasting Does To Your Brain And Big Pharma Companies Refuse To Study It

The amount of research that has been done that proves that Fasting is incredibly beneficial to your health is astounding, yet it’s something that neither the food industry or the pharmaceutical industry is willing to talk about.

The reasons for this is simple: they don’t make money if people are healthy.

Authority Nutrition recently published an article on 10 of the health benefits of fasting, which included:

  • Lowers levels of insulin in the blood which causes more fat to be burned.
  • Jumpstarts cellular repair process including the removal of toxins from cells.
  • Helps with weight loss because of a decrease in the number of calories being eaten.
  • Reduces insulin resistance in the body which lowers the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
  • Lowers inflammation and oxidative stress throughout the body.
  • Improves heart health by reducing several risk factors for heart disease.

Another substantial piece of evidence that supports intermittent fasting is a book that was written by Upton Sinclair. He interviewed around 250 people to write “The Fasting Cure” and found that in nearly every case, the various diseases and health problems each person was facing ended up being cured by fasting for different lengths of time.

So why aren’t doctors aware of this and encouraging their patients to fast to help fight disease and improve their overall health? Isn’t the purpose of the health industry to make people healthy?

The truth is, the health industry as a whole is a business, just like the food industry. If people aren’t sick, they don’t need medication, and the Pharmaceutical Companies don’t get to line their pockets with the money they make developing new medicines for everything that people have. To protect their interests, the pharmaceutical companies work hard to keep information like this under wraps.

When it comes to doctors who work directly with their patients, many of them simply don’t know about the benefits of fasting because they get a lot of their information on new cures and studies directly from the pharmaceutical companies. These companies send out representatives to teach doctors and medical staff about the newest drugs on the market and conveniently avoid subjects like fasting.

Most doctors are simply too busy to take the time to do their research, so they just go with whatever they’re being taught at the conferences that they’re required to attend. Most of these conferences are hosted by pharmaceutical companies who therefore control what information is presented in them, keeping doctors in the dark about things like fasting.

In the same way, the food industry doesn’t make money if people start skipping meals. That leads members of the food industry likewise to do what they can to keep information about fasting from getting into the hands of people.

The government consistently insists that the best way to live a healthy life is to eat 3 square meals a day along with some snacks. They push for people to eat breakfast, claiming that it’s the most important meal of the day. People who consistently fast through breakfast, however, claim the opposite.

For people who aren’t sure about whether or not there are health benefits to fasting, they should try it for themselves. The best way is to engage in intermittent fasting, which limits the times that a person eats. The most popular periodic fasting schedule involves only eating from 2 pm to 9 pm every day. To do it correctly, people must eat the same amount as they usually would during that time, and avoid eating more to make up for lost time.

Most people who have tried intermittent fasting stick with it once they start feeling more energetic and losing the weight that they want. Although it won’t benefit the pharmaceutical companies or food industry, it will certainly help those who choose to fast regularly.
