Multimillion dollar exercise

On Monday I made a decision or maybe it was more of realization. That I am just not getting to exercise. Since I started my new job at a different branch library in September I have been making myself get up earlier and have a more slower morning, drink some tea, read a magazine. As opposed to running into the shower at the last possible second and eating a granola bar on the way to the bus (this still happens though). It was going pretty well until Day light savings. That is when I begin to hibernate. Not only could I not get up early anymore, I just could barely get up.

Now that we are getting more moments of light in the morning I am getting back on track but I think I need to face that getting up even earlier and working out is not going to happen. I don't drink coffee much so it kinda takes me hours to really wake up.

Working out after work doesn't go well either with commuting, cooking dinner and doing dishes, the motivation just isn't there.

Enter my 1 hour lunch while working in a very hilly San Francisco neighborhood. My new job is in a very posh part of San Francisco. Really, really wealthy people and super expensive homes. But that means they take care of their houses, so many Cute Houses. So I decided that 3 days a week I would walk for 30 mins. Pretty much every direction from my work there is a Hill I can walk up. And pretty views and cute houses to look at. So I am hoping I can keep this up, I also went back to tracking calories in my fitness app and actually feel like maybe I lost a tiny bit of weight this week.

Here are my photos of this week.

Day 1. I Walked up a very large hill and found a park with a view. I believe that is Bernal Hill in the distant background. I learned to maybe not wear a chunky wool sweather on a warm day for a walk.

Day 2. This walk almost didn't happen. I broke a plate durning lunch and spent a bunch of time cleaning it up. But I made myself go. I walked up a medium sized hill, found some stairs but there is no way I am ready for stairs yet. So I took a right and saw this super cute bunny house. What I didn't realize at the time is the other flag (black and blue) is the International Leather flag. I imagine the bunnies inside in leather chaps and hats.

Day 3. Walked up a pretty big hill on a hot day. But found a view of downtown.
Things I am learning: pack sunscreen, sunglasses and headphones. And wear layers. I am thinking of getting a big floppy hat for my locker at work as well. And I learned I need new shoes. My feet hurt!
