COWBOY JUNKIES : FIVE YEARS

WE ARE LIVING in a fearful and uncertain age and this new version of David Bowie's 'Five Years' by the Cowboy Junkies captures the mood of the times.

The song was first released in 1972 and appears on Bowie's album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The song depicts an impending apocalyptic disaster that will destroy the earth within five years.

The Cowboy Junkies are an alternative rock/folk band from Canada. Their interpretation of 'Five Years' is from their new album Songs of the Recollection which will be released March 25.

The band were due to tour New Zealand in January this year but, because of the pandemic, the tour has been re-scheduled for January next year. The Cowboy Junkies will play Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
