“The dogs have been captured and are no longer a danger to beachgoers.”

Daily News is reporting that a seven year old boy is fighting for his life in Vachira Hospital Phuket after being mauled by a pack of dogs at a beach near the Sarasin Bridge, on the Phang Nga side.

“D-Max” was just out playing with his friends when the dogs struck. He was bitten all over his body and had an ear ripped off.”

According to Daily News, three teams of doctors and surgeons at Vachira Hospital are trying to save his life.

Four dogs were caught by shooting them with tranquiliser darts and then caged amid fears that they could be rabid.

The attack happened at the beach at Ban Tha Nun in the Takua Tung district of Phang Nga.

The 43 year old mother of Yeunyong Chaiyarap or “D-Max” was allowed only five minutes to visit her son in ICU.

The seven year old is “aware but under close supervision”, according to doctors at the hospital.

UPDATE: 12.30pm, Monday – “D-Max” has already survived last night’s operations and now is under close care with doctors at Vachira Hospital
