India And Australia Talk About Ways To Enhance Their Defence Cooperation

During the Austra Hind 22 joint Exercise between Australia and India, Major General Chris Field of the Australian Army met with Lt. General M.V. Suchindra Kumar, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy) of India, to talk about ways to improve defence ties.

“Maj Gen Chris Field from the @AustralianArmy called on Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar DCOAS (Strat) and talked about the ongoing joint Exercise #AustraHind between both Armies and ways to improve bilateral defence cooperation,” said a tweet from the Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI).

Austra Hind-22 is a joint military exercise between the armies of Australia and India. It started on November 28 at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. The focus of the exercise is on UN-mandated peacekeeping operations.

The goal of the exercise, which will last until December 11, is to strengthen military ties, share best practises, and get people to work together.

During the joint drills that are still going on, the troops have shared what they know about drone technology.

“Troops of the #IndianArmy and @AustralianArmy shared their knowledge on how to use cutting-edge drone technology, such as #nanodrones, in combat,” the Indian Army (@adgpi) wrote on Twitter.

The Australian army is represented by soldiers from the 2nd Division’s 13th Brigade, and the Indian army is represented by soldiers from the Dogra Regiment.

According to the Defense Ministry, the goal of the exercise is to build good relations between the two militaries, learn from each other’s best practises, and improve their ability to work together while carrying out multi-domain operations in semi-desert terrain under a UN peace enforcement mandate.

The “Austra Hind” is an annual event that will take place in both India and Australia every year.
