Ukraine Conflict: Kiev Presents A Mock Russian Nuclear-capable Missile

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia is currently utilising nuclear-capable missiles with non-explosive warheads to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defences.

It revealed what it claimed to be pieces of nuclear-capable X-55 cruise missiles produced in the Soviet Union that were discovered in Ukraine’s two western regions.

According to a Ukrainian official, the rockets are being launched to “exhaust the air-defence system of our country.”

According to him, radiation readings on the fragments were not out of the ordinary.

According to Ukrainian military specialists, after launching wave after wave of enormous assaults on Ukraine’s vital infrastructure in recent weeks, Russia may have considerably reduced the size of its vast missile arsenal.

They claim that Moscow is now turning to blunt projectiles, which nevertheless wreak destruction. Similar conclusions were reached in a November intelligence report from the UK.

Russia, which began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, has not responded to the situation publicly.

Mykola Danyliuk, a military official, displayed pieces of what he said were X-55 cruise missiles—known by NATO as AS-15—to reporters at a press conference on Thursday in the nation’s capital Kyiv.

According to him, the missiles were created during the Soviet era to strike “strategic targets with fixed coordinates.”

The missiles were created “exclusively as a nuclear delivery system,” according to the UK.

Russia has not officially reacted to the situation since it started an invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
