Ethiopian Airlines introduces new service to India

Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it will add a new destination in India to its route network. Starting on October 27, the Airline will start passenger flights from its hub at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to Bengaluru in India.

The new service is set to be operated four times per week. Ethiopia’s flag-carrier plans to deploy Boeing 737-800s on the route. As part of its current schedule, Ethiopian Airlines offers flights to India’s capital New Delhi and Mumbai. Additionally, its cargo subsidiary operates freighter flights to India, including Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai.

Ethiopian Airlines was founded in 1945 and is owned by the government of Ethiopia. Since 2011, the airline is a member of the Star Alliance. The carrier’s short haul fleet consists of Boeing 737NG and smaller De Havilland Canada Dash 8 (formerly known as Bombardier Dash 8 Q400) turboprop aircraft. Read More
