Recently, NERC disclosed via its Twitter page on 16th September 2020 that “A Landlord’s Outstanding Electricity Bills cannot be enforced on a tenant.” the tweet reads
According to NERC, the position was laid down by a court. It, therefore, called on the public to report such situations to its office.
The tweet further reads: “A judge recently ruled that the bills of a previous tenant cannot be enforced on a new customer.
Send us details if you are in such situations.
