TaTaTu is an outfit that aims to bring together Blockchain and entertainment industry. According to Hollywood Reporter, the platform prides itself as pioneers of social entertainment on blockchain network. Basically, users view videos on the platform after which they earn cryptocurrency.
The Hollywood Reporter further reveals that the platform is joining hands with Infinitum Nihil to develop film content. Interestingly, the content will promote blockchain and cryptocurrency. Infinitum Nihil is a film production company associated with actor Jonny Depp.
Bridging blockchain and entertainment industry to enhance content originality
Particularly, TaTaTu uses blockchain technology to certify identity of content creators. Further, the platform pays the content creators using a native token called TaTaTu Token (TTU). The platform guarantees unique views and content that is very original. Using blockchain, the platform assigns unique identifiers to content to avoid duplication and copyright infringement.
Launched this year, TTU attracted a $575M token sale which ranked third highest at the time. Interestingly, the initial coin offering (ICO) boasts influential institutional investors like Blocktower Capital and Polymath Capital.
However, the highlight of the partnership is Johnny Depp, an actor better known for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Andrea Iervolino, TaTaTu founder believes Depp’s magic touch will advance blockchain to greater heights. He says:
“Johnny has the ability to conceptualize material in a way that few can, and is unburdened of conventional industry formulas that dictate the projects that get made, traditionally.”
Democratising the industry
Particularly, Iervolino assures that with the actor, they will embrace disruptiveness aimed at meeting blockchain and entertainment industry. “Johnny will be a key collaborator with us and we are tremendously excited to back his visions and instincts on stories to bring to life,” Iervolino adds.
For his part, Johnny Depp holds that blockchain will help democratise the entertain industry for the benefit of all stakeholders. Further, he believes that his colleague (Andrea) has the right imagination to deliver desired results.
“I admire the imaginative ethos of Andrea and look forward to collaborating together in a liberating, progressive manner that will befit the principals of our respective entities,” Depp said.
Hopefully, this venture will be successful unlike similar ventures by other celebrities that have run aground.
