Crocodile 2 - Death Swamp (2002)

A criminal carrying stolen money and gold hijacks a plane that crashes in a Mexican Swamp, where the survivors are terrorized by a giant crocodile.

Is the sequel better than the first? Yes. Yes it is. With a bank heist for starters, a plane flight right after, a character-introducing first phone call and all... and you wonder what this'll have to do with crocodiles or death swamps? Just you wait.

It feels like the nineties maybe most by soundtrack. The characters have character - Tarantino level toughness. The explosions are pretty big. The sceneries are tropical.

It reminds me more of Killer Crocodile than the last one did, and a bit like that John Cena Movie where they're headed through the swamp - wonder if it might've inspired?

The special effects are definitely the weak point with this movie though. The atmosphere's solid. The props too. Plot development and everything. Feels like it goes way beyond where a movie of this caliber's meant to go in those areas, and I really wasn't expecting that ending.

If you like action adventure thriller swamp type stuff: Give this one a shot.

 rated 4.5/5: almost awesome
