This is the Story of four brothers: Bobby, Angel, Jeremiah and Jack Mercer (Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, André Benjamin and Garrett Hedlund), all previously troublesome teens adopted by the sweetest women on Earth - Evelyn Mercer (Fionnula Flanagan); now full-grown citizens. Terrence Howard plays a part as cop, and Chiwetel Ejiofor the big cheese.

The plot? The brothers come back to Detroit to attend their mom's funeral - she's been killed in a heist gone wrong, yet when they start doing their investigations it turns out there's more to the robbery than meets the eye. It soon moves to inner conflicts, crooked cops, a shootout, and ultimately... vengeance.

It's crazy, charming and direct. A cold (more so because of the snow) down-to-Earth story of four brothers mashing their way through Detroit slime to get some of their own justice. The plot seems a bit cliche, maybe, but the movie is all but that, with authentic action sequences and a cast with plenty of character. It has some emotional moments too. Overall: a great watch.
