Top 6 Funding Deals in Technology Segment – (July 2016)

According to Xeler8’s survey report, the first half of 2016 has witnessed more than 650 amazing Funding deals and this number is far better than previous years’ deals. However a slight decrease has been observed in the deal volume but regardless of all ups and downs, the budding business ideas succeeded to hold a good Amount of funding over the previous years. Here we have listed down top funding deals that have happened in technology segment in July 2016.

1. 3one4 Capital with Endiya Partners and others invested in Darwinbox

Hyderabad based Darwinbox, a cloud based human resource technology startup has raised funding in the month of July 2016 in a round led by Endiya Partners. Aaruha Technology, TracxnLabs and Mohandas Pai and 3one4 capital also participated in the same round of funding. Darwinbox was launched in August 2015 by Jayant Prasad Paleti, Rohit Chennamaneni and Chaitanya Peddi. The company provides businesses a cloud based integrated HR Technology product to handle HR works from employee’s hiring to retirement.

2. Zaffiro Ventures invested in Don’t Scratch Your Head

Another Saas or cloud based technology startup Don’t Scratch Your Head (DSYH) has also succeeded to raise $250,000 amount as a seed funding this month. Ahmedabad based technology startup got this amount from Gaurav Singhvi, Managing Partner, Vcats Surat and Zaffiro Venture. Established in November 2015, DSYH allows vendors or sellers to maintain their accounts and payments with multiple marketplaces efficiently. The raised amount will be used to upgrade technological infrastructure and customer support team to ensure business growth.

3. Kalaari Capital and others invested in AppsDaily [News Link]

Mumbai based AppsDaily Solutions Pvt. Ltd has raised $2 million in a bridge round of funding from existing investors, Qualcomm Ventures, Kalaari Capital, Russian venture capital fund ru-Net and Zodius Technology Opportunities Fund. Ambrosia Infotech Ltd also was a part of this round. Arun Menon (CEO) and Ajay Menon (director) founded AppsDaily in 2008 for developing and distributing software and apps for mobile phones.

4. Rothenberg Ventures Invested in SpectraVR

5. Brian Acton Invested in Trak N Tell

Gurgaon-based Internet of Things (IoT) startup Trak N Tell secured $3.5 million funding from a group of investors including Brian Acton, WhatsApp, Co-Founder. Established in 2007, the company provides GPS system to track vehicles in case of a theft by simply tapping a button on smartphone.

6. Sequoia India invested in SirionLabs

Last but not least, Gurgaon based SirionLabs has closed a $12.25 million funding deal in July 2016. The funding is led by existing investor Sequoia India under Series B financing round. This startup develops inventive supplier management technology products and established as an emerging leader in the procurement space. The raised amount will be used to expand market.
