Bitfinix has closed its operation after severe breach

Bitfinix-a bitcoin trader has shut down the Operation, as the company is likely to investigate security breach. After multiple users’ complaint, the company has frozen its operation as some of the funds were missing. The company also informed law enforcement about the breach and announced that any customer loss will be addressed as per the current market price. The company has not announced about funds amount and the number of affected users. The company’s director of community and product development announced about the breach on Reddit platform.

Firefox-49 version will protect Download Content

Mozilla is going to launch its new Firefox 49 version that will protect download content. The browser then shows two types of download warnings : uncommon download and potentially unwanted software. When a Firefox will encounter dangerous download file, it will show a red warning on download button on contrary, when a browser will detect potential unwanted program or uncommon downloads, it will show a yellow warning on download button.

Spread of Neutrino toolkit is on high, says Symantec report

Symantec came up with its intelligence report for the month of July 2016, which is all about cyber security threat, trends of malware, spam. The Symantec’s intelligence report said that attacker’s toolkit named Neutrino and Angler ranked in first two positions with 21.5% and 7% ratio. The Angler toolkit ratio was 15.7% dropped. Phishing rate was increased and reached to one in 1886 emails. Sectors like manufacturer, Agriculture, public administration were top three sectors hit by phishing mail.

The search engine has shut down its both HTTP and HTTPS version including all .EU, .ME, .CH and .IN domain extensions.

UK Firms have experienced more Ransomware attacks than USA

Malwarebytes report about ransomware highlighted the rising level of Ransomware Attacks on UK firms. The firms are seriously lacking on security front and they have encountered ransomware attacks more than Canada, Germany, and the USA. Around 58% of IT directors have paid ransom amount in the past. If we consider amount, then 60% attacks demanded $1000 amount. There were 22% companies had no idea of how they were attacked, so training and awareness was issues.
