Client Bucket List: Star Wars

We all have clients we would love to work on. Not just for the glory, since none of us want to ride on anyone's coattails, but for the challenge of extending a universe just a little further. 

So here's one from my client bucket list: Star Wars. The newest Star Wars film grossed almost a quarter of a billion dollars in the opening weekend alone. How did this happen? Because Star Wars has become an amazing product again. Yes, I said it. Star Wars is a great product again, post Jar Jar Binks. The story, the characters, the philosophy of the force….you can do so much with all of it, it's almost heartbreaking not being able to work on it. 

To take the cinematic experience that you go through when you watch Star Wars and translate it into digital would be a dream come true. Places like Disneyland have set a great stage for immersing users into digital experiences asking young Padawans if the force is strong in them via mobile apps that tell you how many Midi-chlorians you have.  

Movie goers can foresee the future, by calculating possible movie plots on Youtube or any .COM, then sharing it with friends to see who knows their stuff. It's a part of the experience. Unwrapping a plot is a part of our culture. For example: Don't you want to know who Rey’s father is? Or why R2-D2 was awoken at the end of the movie?

There's so much that can be done. Cheers to those who do.
