Google recently announced that it will implement a slew of new changes to Shopping campaigns, including:
- Showcase Shopping Ads: ads designed to target broad search queries
- More advertising options on TrueView
- Testing of a new currency conversion tool
The new Showcase Shopping Ads option is the biggest change of the batch, and will allow users to shop collections of products from online and local merchants via a feed-based display that shows three photos per ad. Google confirmed that the new ads will become the standard for broad queries in the U.S., UK and Australia moving forward.
The search engine also announced that advertisers will now be able to display banner ads and product picker ads in Google’s TrueView shopping ads, the ads that show up next to TrueView ads on YouTube. Finally, Google is now testing a new automatic Currency conversion tool for international sellers in product listing ads (PLAs). The tool will show the price of the product in the user’s home currency as well as the currency of the merchant.
