The Samsung Note 8 is the new installment of Samsung. After their mishap with the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung seemed to have redeemed themselves. The Note 8 is surely more expensive with a starting price of AED 3,416 and can run as high as AED 3,526. Now, this might sound a little pricey compared to the reputation of the Note 7, but the Note 8 is definitely one worth the money, which brings us to the question of whether the UAE region is ready for this Phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes with a design quite similar to that of other Samsung designs. It has a glass curve with an elegant metal frame for its sides. Covered almost entirely with its smooth glass exterior, the Note 8 provides comfort in grip and touch. The difference with this new phone is that it is sharper than some of the previous models of the Note, such as the Note 7. This, however, does not affect the way you use the phone, it is still comfortable, equally thin at a weight of 195g, and with an infinity design on the side corners. Design-wise, this is a pleasurable design for all those UAE users out there.
This Samsung phone comes with a 6.3-inch panel and Super AMOLED technology that we have seen on previous Samsung phones before. The display itself is quite enjoyable, providing clear and bright viewing experiences. With a resolution of 2,960×1,440, it definitely provides vibrant colors and high contrast, however, the phone itself defaults to 1080p and you should change this setting for a greater viewing experience. Its display may even be changed to a brightness of 1200 nits, which is extremely bright. If we are talking display, it is definitely one of the best parts of the Galaxy Note 8. So if you are looking for some quality multimedia entertainment this is one phone that is made for the job.
One of the added features of the Galaxy Note 8 is the dual camera on the backside of the phone. The camera has a wide angle and telephoto lens setup, which creates two times the optical zoom. The sensors come with a 12MP and f/1.7 aperture on the main sensor and f/2.4 on the secondary. Both sensors feature optical image stabilization, but the superfast dual-pixel autofocus is only available via the main camera. This ability creates stunning images and is definitely one of the first of its kind – one to compete with the iPhone 7 Plus or the OnePlus 5.
The Galaxy Note 8 is run with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and a 6GB RAM. The combination of these two features creates a good experience for users. The phone works quickly and efficiently with a simple way of swiping and scrolling through all the menus. It is the phone made for multitasking – with ease in trying to navigate and or in opening multiple windows. It does a great job in handling intense tasks, such as playing games. It is a phone made for productivity and multiple uses, so for those constantly working, this may be the phone for you. The battery, however, may not be able to handle intense usage of the phone – with a tendency to run out quickly when multiple apps or tabs are used.
The Galaxy Note 8 is especially recommended for all the UAE entrepreneurs out there. This phone creates the perfect experience for productivity and worth a shot for those in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Aside from minor setbacks, the Galaxy Note 8 is one phone to look out for.
