What inspired you to write the novel The Chelsea Detective?

This season inspired the novel because I watched “The Chelsea Murders” on HGTV one night. I was so disturbed when I saw the murder scene and the blood. At first, I went to my room to calm down but then as I watched the show a second time, it inspired me to write this book.

Now my publisher has sold more than 50,000 copies so far. After this, it will be published all over the world. Since then, there are more than 50 countries that have already published my book with many more being sold every day which means they have been translated into various languages all over the world.

What was your process for writing it, and how long did it take you to complete it?

I had taken an extreme amount of time and effort to write this particular book. I had never witnessed such a horrific crime scene and blood at a murder site before. It was striking enough to make me write the book. In fact, most people who have seen the TV series or read my book will find it very difficult to sleep after reading it as I did in the beginning.

But once I started writing, I found myself getting enthusiastic about the story and characters. So after a few weeks of work, The Chelsea Detective was completed. It took me a little longer than usual because I wanted to create characters that were unlike any other characters I had created in any of my previous books or stories in all my life.

Are you working on any new projects that we can look forward to in the near future?

Apart from The Chelsea Detective, I have two other books. One is a book called ‘A Twist of Fate’ which is set in London and is about a private detective named Walter who gets in a terrible accident and he meets a woman whom he falls in love with.

The second book I have is called “A Bitter Taste” which was inspired by the TV series “Pretty Little Liars”. There are many similarities between these two books related to the murder series. Both of these books were turned into movies and will be released soon as well. So if you like my previous works, you would definitely enjoy my new works as well!

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers out there who are looking?

My advice is to write, write and then write some more! You can never learn too much about writing. If you want to be a writer and you are not, I believe your life will always be incomplete. So write, write and then write some more! The cast consists of Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Need for Speed), Nina Arianda (Clueless, Hamlet 2) and Phoebe Waller Bridge (Downton Abbey).
